Ready4 GMAT is one of the most popular GMAT preparation apps and it certainly has a lot to offer – there are over 1,000 verbal and quantitative questions, hundreds of available flashcards as well as customisable tests. The app is free to download, but you get access to all the questions and videos only if you sign up for a “Premium” plan. The Official GRE Guide (iOS only)

If your business school of choice accepts the GRE test, you may want to check out the preparation app from the maker of the test, ETS. It gives you access to real test questions with answers and explanations, plus useful tips and strategies. The so-called “Starter Pack”, priced at USD 4.99, features only 25 verbal and 25 quantitative reasoning questions and 2 analytical writing tasks. While there is simply a multitude of available apps for TOEFL preparation for both iOS and Android devices, you can count on the official app from the creator of the test to deliver great authentic content. This is very much the case with the aptly named “TOEFL Go!”. While the free app is limited to sample content only, in-app purchases allow you to add more Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing practice tests. Essays are a critical part of the application process that should not be underestimated. One great resource in this regard is the Essay Writing Guide, available as a USD 2.99 download. While not specifically geared towards future Master’s or MBA students, it is an essential reference tool for any essay writer. The app is intuitive and easy to use, organised around four interface wheels called Content, Style, Organisation and Mechanics. What makes it extremely useful are the in-depth explanations of the different writing concepts, supplemented by examples and instructions.

Peacock - Mock Interview Prep (iOS, Android)

This app helps you prepare for the “final frontier” of your B-school admission process – the interview. Another reason why this app made our list is the simply great Timed Video Recorder function that allows you to record your answers and review them later.
