Top 400 World Universities

According to Times Higher Education (THE), California Institute of Technology (USA) takes first place in the world university ranking for fourth year in a row. Second and third place go to, respectively, Harvard and Oxford.

Seven of the top ten universities are located in the USA and the other three are British. In general, British and American universities take the first 12 places in the ranking by THE. Number 13 goes to ETH Zürich – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich.

In the world university ranking by Times Higher Education, North American universities most definitely prevail with its 129 schools in top 400. Europe represents 179 schools for higher education and Asia- 52.

The Times Higher Education university ranking is the only ranking, which rates the higher education institutions based on their main objectives: education, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
